Mark your calendar! It’s a Thursday so if you are going to an agility trial you can have plenty of practice before the weekend!

WHO: All Dogs, all levels (who have done at least Beginner II agility sessions and are familiar on all obstacles) are welcome! This is an  especially good chance to get agility practice in a different environment.

WHAT: Courses will be set for different skill levels. There will be nested courses with numbered cones for Beginner and Advanced, and just sign up for your jump height.  You have up to 3 minutes in the ring, treats and toys are allowed! Practice any obstacles, try difficult parts of the course again, or make up your own course if you wish. Jump heights offered are 4″ – 24″.

COST:  $5.00 per run, up to 3 minutes training time in the ring each run. Walk thrus after each round of dogs has run.

PRE-REGISTER:  Please We require a group of 10 teams to make this happen each month. Please – reply below and respond with Yes ! If we do not reach min capacity we will cancel the evening, so tell all your friends!

WHERE: Roaring Brook barn is a huge indoor arena with soft loam. Set up your crates in the end-door as you enter the driveway, we’ll set up the ring at the far end inside. There is plenty of parking, and plenty of crating space. For directions see “Getting There” @ www.hilltownhounds.com

Special Notices:  Please be sure to print your own catalog and worker’s schedule as they will not be available at the trial.

Drinking Water:  Please bring a personal water bottle for drinking water. Drinking water will be available at the worker’s table.  Fresh well water will be available in large Igloo water dispensers.  (and a hose spigot for your running mate)  In order to conserve resources we will not be offering bottled water.  Please prepare for this by bringing your own refillable water bottle. There is a hose spigot available for doggie water as well.  Thank you for your support of a “green” trial.

We are excited to have Mary Jo Lavin as our instructor this year. She has 15 years of teaching agility to students as the co-owner of Homestead Farm Agility, in North Brookfield MA. Mary Jo carries a full toolbox of techniques, tips and strategies. Her skill lies in detecting the details of handling and helping handlers be more precise. Mary Jo is a master at developing potential into proficiency and getting results beyond her students’ expectations. Mary Jo’s strength is teaching others how to build and train strong foundation skills in their budding agility dogs. She has an analytical approach and a gift for breaking down complex concepts into understandable lessons. Her training is based on positive, motivational methods for both dogs and handlers.

Classes will be offered at all levels; Pre-Agility for new and young dogs, Foundation fundamentals for beginner agility dogs, Intermediate, continuing handling skills Advanced fundamentals for competitive teams. We will meet on Tuesday nights at the Roaring Brook Farm on Roaring Brook Road in Conway, Massachusetts.
